Choosing Dress Lengths & Fits
Dress names describe a general style; the listed measurements tell you how that particular dress is likely to fit. Start with the length and shape, then compare the product size chart.
Mini, midi or maxi?
A mini dress is a shorter style, a midi falls between a mini and a full-length dress, and a maxi has a longer silhouette. The exact hem position depends on the garment length and your height. Compare the listed measurement with a dress you already own rather than relying only on the model photo.
Fitted and relaxed shapes
For a fitted or corset-style bodice, compare the bust and waist measurements carefully. For relaxed shapes, check the shoulders and length as well as the body width. A wrap-style design does not necessarily mean the garment has an adjustable wrap fastening; look for the actual closure details.
Necklines, sleeves and splits
Look through the front and back photos for neckline height, sleeve length, straps and split placement. These details help you decide what layers and accessories you want to wear with the dress.
Put the outfit together
A patterned dress can supply the main colour in an outfit, while simple shoes and accessories keep the pattern in focus. For a plain dress, changing your outer layer or jewellery can give the same piece a different feel.
